Riverton, Wyo. – Central Wyoming College is proud to announce its statewide Medical Apprenticeship Program, providing healthcare professionals with the opportunity to enhance their skills and earn industry-recognized certification certification.

The program, which began in the fall of last year, has already seen tremendous success. A total of 25 students have registered with the program;  of those, six students have completed requirements and passed the national certifying exam through the National Center for Competency Testing, achieving a 100% pass rate.

“We are thrilled to be the only college in Wyoming offering this unique apprenticeship program,” says Kristy Jones, a dedicated member of the Central Wyoming College team that launched this important program. “Our goal is to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the healthcare industry.”

The program is designed to meet the growing demand for certified healthcare professionals, as many hospitals and clinics across the state now require certification for employment. The program not only offers classes in an online format, but also provides online certification testing for those who prefer a more flexible learning experience.

“We are proud to be part of Central Wyoming College’s program,” says Kerry George, Director of Nursing, Wind River Family and Community Health Care. “The healthcare industry is in need of skilled professionals and CWC’s apprenticeship program is a great opportunity for individuals to gain the necessary qualifications. Their support in certification has been an invaluable asset.”

The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program at Central Wyoming College has already made a significant impact on the lives of students. Many are single parents, working individuals, and the first in their families to pursue higher education. The program equips them with new skills while boosting their confidence and earning potential.
