CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services recently launched the state’s first Apprenticeship Hub.
“It’s the first of its kind for Wyoming. Wyoming as a state has never had an apprenticeship platform before, so we saw this as an opportunity to create an innovative platform where we can support students, employers, job seekers, and also educators to connect to all of these parties, to support registered apprenticeship, the expansion of it, and also becoming an apprentice if they would like to,” said Ivie Moore, Apprenticeship Program Lead at the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.
They even integrated AI into the website to create a more interactive experience, just scan the QR code which takes you to an interactive interface for the website.
“It was a good way for us to interact with people, and also we’re able to look at where those clicks are coming from, so we can actually see where apprenticeship is most being interactive,” said Moore.
The Registered Apprenticeship Program has something for everyone, there’s even a pre apprenticeship program for ages 16-24, offering a pre requisite training program, to help them enter the workforce.
“Apprenticeship programs have changed a lot in the last 5, 10 years. Modern apprenticeships are really evolving, and they’re expanding in the sense that its not necessarily limited to those traditional occupations,” said Moore.
The hub was created due to students having a hard time getting involved with employers, and employers having a hard time reaching students, and the next generation of the workforce.
“So we’re really hoping this is going to be that hub, that bridge, to really bring those communities together,” said Moore.
